Dance Video and Stranger Danger!

If tonight's events don't naturally induce labor I'm fairly certain we will have to wait until May 3rd to meet Avery!

Rewind...A few weeks ago I found a video on youtube. I encouraged Meg to follow the moves exactly, but she just glared at me. Tonight she suggested I play the video (At this point, I think it's safe to say, she's ready for Avery to come out!)...Meg wouldn't let me videotape her, so you'll just have to imagine!!!

After dancing to the video, Meg and I danced the Cha Cha Slide, Cupid Shuffle, Electric Slide, Cotton Eyed Joe, and Crank That (lol)

Meg was pretty tired and was having a little cramping, so we decided to take a break. We went into the kitchen to pack lunches when ALL OF THE SUDDEN...

The front door opened. Without even thinking, I walked towards the foyer (about 4 steps from the kitchen) to find a young man standing INSIDE our house. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY HOUSE?" I asked in a very deep, protective voice. The dogs started barking uncontrollably and jumped on his legs.

Scared shitless, the young man started backing out the door. He stated that he had the wrong house and apologized several times.

It all happened so fast!!! (and would make an awesome story should Meg actually go into labor!!)

    AHHHHHH wait I never told you this but I did the same thing The day I was there to paint the mural, I went outside for something in my car, I think more brushes, and I was in my own little world walked right up to your neightbors house, took on look through the glass door, and realized this was the wrong place. EMBARRRRRASSING LOL. I didn't get inside but to top the cake, they were at the end of their walkway having a piece of furniture delivered so Everyone laughed at me including the delivery guy. ooohh dear scarey but I sympothize.. PS I can see you laughing so hard right now. :)

    PPS love this video! I wish I was there for the dance party. I can just picture you guys .. I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT. I bet Avery was like what the heck stop is going on on out there.. TOO much bouncin I would havebeen like peace out im getting out of this joint... hahaha.

Hmm..where do I even begin? Avery has been a great baby from the very first day she was born. So great that she pretty much slept through everything in the hospital (including her hearing test, doctor check up, and some of her hospital photoshoot) When we brought her home it was more of the same. She was a typical sleepy newborn. She rarely cried and was rather predictable. Her only problem was gas. By the time Avery was 2 weeks old, we had switched her to Enfamil Gentlease. It seemed to work better than the Enfamil newborn, but Avery still suffers from gas on occasion.  We tried adding gripe water into her bottles. This caused Avery to develop a rash all over her body (which ultimately made her more uncomfortable). Our most recent attempt revolved around Little Tummies. While the drops do seem to calm her, they only work temporarily. Oh, and Avery despises the taste of them (despite their "berry flavor"). Seriously, I'm waiting for her to foam at the mouth one day!

One Week Later...

It has been 7 days since the birth of our beautiful little girl and I've already learned so much...Here are the highlights so far... 1. I've learned how to change a wet diaper. 2. Keeping with number 1, I've learned that if I don't change Avery's diaper fast enough or if I try to change her before she fully wakes up Avery will pee on me! (definitely not just a boy thing!) 3. I've learned how to change a poopy diaper. 4. Keeping with number 3, I've learned that Avery can (and will) projectile poop if I don't change her diaper fast enough (happened twice so far!) 5. I've learned how to swaddle Avery (Meg is still much better at this than I am!) 6. I've learned how to make a bottle. 7. I've learned how to burp Avery..I'm kind of an expert! 8. I've learned how to tell when Avery is hungry (she does this weird thing with her tongue...Meg calls it rooting...I call it "Barney Crouch-ing"...after the guy in Harry Pot

First Visit to the Pediatrician

Avery had her first doctor's appointment today. She did well. She didn't gain any weight, but she didn't lose any either (still 6lbs 10 oz). The doctor told us that she looked great. He said that her "Angel's kiss" (pink mark above her eye) will continue to fade. He also pointed out her "Stork bite" (it's a red mark...kind of looks like a rash...on the back of her neck) and said that too will fade with time. We weren't worried...we didn't even know it existed (it's covered by her hair!) I think Meg and I were more phased by the appointment than her. She had a wet diaper and they suggested we change her on the community changing table. They had the paper roll to cover the table, but all we could think of was GERMS! Then, there was a little girl who walked way too close and coughed (yuck!) Needless to say, when we got home we took off all of our clothes (and Avery's) and washed all of our hands.
