2nd Beta

This morning Meg went in for her second beta. (Technically Yesterday...I'm writing this after midnight) The nurse must've destroyed her arm because she came out saying the nurse had to "dig around." Eek! Meg has been having a lot of bellyaches (before bed) recently. She is exhausted (all the time). She complains of sore boobs and has serious mood swings!  S he's nauseous off and on throughout the day.  But, today was the first day she has had to break open the ginger chews.  The doc called this afternoon with her blood results. Her beta came back at 783. Her progesterone was 16. Doc said everything looks fantastic!  We go in for our first ultrasound on August 5th!

It's Official...again

This morning we went to RMA for Meg's pregnancy test. When we came home she decided to "pee on a stick." I guess she needed some reassurance (we haven't tested since day 10) With two dark lines, there wasn't any doubt in our minds that she was pregnant Still, we needed to hear it officially. Rather than wait around, we decided to take Avery to the zoo.  We were only there for a few hours before Avery passed out. On our way back to the car we received our  "Congratulations!" Meg's beta was 193. Progesterone was 19. We go back Monday for more bloodwork. So surreal.

Long Night

What a way to end vacation!!  We spent the last couple of hours in the ER. Poor Avery has a double ear infection.  The diagnosis was the easy part. Administering the antibiotic was horrendous. Avery reenacted the exorcist (twice) and cried inconsolably afterwards. It was heartbreaking.  We gave her Tylenol before driving to the hospital. They then gave her Motrin. Eventually her fever came down...this prompted the doctor to send us home with a script for the antibiotic (guess she figured we might have better luck mixing a concoction at home!) I can't wait to put this in our photobook! Avery got two awesome hospital gowns. Meg and I got scrub tops.  The hospital staff were amazing! The nurse said we are an adorable family. (I'm sure we all looked great!) Nothing we can do, but laugh. Bonus...before finding out that Avery was on fire, Meg woke me up to say that she took another pregnancy test and there wasn't a line and that she was "freaking out"  I went into the b

Day 9 We loaded the car and started our journey to Ocean City, New Jersey. We met up with friends and spent most of the day on the beach.  Avery loved it...so much that she actually fell asleep under the umbrella! (I'm still in shock)  Just a word of caution to those of you with little ones...sand with a toddler is No joke! It gets EVERYWHERE! (I've always hated sand, but I now think it's evil) So, if you find yourself on the beach with someone who detests sand as much as I do, remember to bring baby powder! (It makes the sand wipe off!) After we checked into the condo we showered and prepared for our night on the boardwalk.  I can't upload the pictures until I download them to my computer, but Avery loved the rides! She and I shared polish water ice. Meg was happy with her soft serve ice cream.  It was a nice start to our vacation. Day 10 It has been almost two years since we tested positive with Avery (on day 10) We didn't want to test yesterday because it was our

Today was an ordinary day. We had a lot of errands to run. (We are going on vacation tomorrow!) We took a long nap and then went out to dinner with friends (procrastinating from packing!) Avery and I played some video games while waiting for our table! (Totally her idea) She then tried lemons for the first time...hilarious! Testing soon...eek!

TWW: Day 7

Today we went to RMA to check Meg's progesterone. They called this afternoon and said her results were perfect. They also said that she did not need to take supplements. After Avery's nap we headed to Meg's parents' house. We hung out for a bit and then went to a pool party and BBQ. At Meg's parents' house she practiced her somersaults, showed off her smile, and kissed Buttercup (Meg's parents' English Mastiff) At the pool party, Avery splashed, sat in her float, played on the stairs, watched the big kids, and dunked on the basketball hoop. She LOVES the water. Meg had another emotional moment today. She almost cried because the man at Lee's Hoagie House was "mean to her." She also started to complain about her boobs hurting (she said that when she was pregnant with Avery). I'm trying not to get my hopes up because I've learned tha

TWW: Day 6

Meg had another emotional moment this morning. I can't even remember what it was about. All I know is that I laughed and it made the situation so much worse. Other than that, there's nothing huge to report. Avery is becoming obsessed with climbing into things.  She has two "fangs" coming in. Her two top molars have been breaking through for a while now. Tonight we noticed her bottom two molars.

TWW: Day 4 and Day 5

Day 4: Yesterday was 4 days post IUI. I didn't have a chance to blog because we spent the day at Sesame Place...We were only there for a few hours, but it was exhausting. It was too hot to wait in the lines to meet the Sesame characters and to ride the dry rides.  We spent most of our time in the Count's Splash Castle.  It had a pool, a 1,000-gallon tipping bucket, multiple water slides, bridges, water guns, jets, steering water wheels and much more. Avery absolutely loved it!  We also checked out the toddler section of the park, but it wasn't nearly as fun. Here are some pictures of Avery in the water: Day 5: Today we met Avery's Aunt "Zazi" for brunch at Panera Bread. It was awesome to sit down and catch up. The broccoli cheddar soup was an added bonus.  Avery fell asleep in the car on the way home. I tried to transfer her to her crib, but she wasn't having it. So...Meg and I decided to take her to the Buck

TWW: Day 3

Today, Meg and I spent the day with friends. We ate hockey puck burgers, delicious hot dogs, and some awesome brownies. We laughed A LOT, took lots of pictures, played some games, and even had a sleepover! Here are some pictures of our day!

TWW: Day 2

Today, Meg and I took Avery to a birthday party!  She LOVED it! She went inside her first inflatable moon bounce (specifically designed for toddlers) She tried to run up the slides (not sure why she is obsessed with breaking the rules!) She went on the swings, sat on a mermaid's lap (it was a little mermaid theme) and even got her first tattoo (a fish) Here are some of my favorite pictures... The best part of MY day happened when we were out at dinner. We went to our local organic pizza place. Meg picked a table close to the door.  In walked a young boy with his family. He peeked at our pizza and asked his mom why we had so much. She encouraged him to ask us. I told him Avery is a growing girl. He then asked why she had two moms. Fortunately I had a few extra seconds to think of an appropriate response...meg thought he asked why Avery had two arms and proceeded to answer! (Lol!) He giggled and then asked again. My reply..."because she's lucky!" He then went on talking
